Retaining intensity a must

The Demons might be the last-placed side but the challenge for us is to prove we can produce the same level of football against a bottom team as we did in our recent win against top side Subiaco.

That's what makes the good sides very good and sets them apart from those in the middle of the pack.

In light of that mentality, we're not in any position to be resting players this week.

We're excited to be heading into a block of eight matches to end the season, most of which will be played on a Saturday so players can get some regularity back into their schedule.

Last weekend's bye gave them a chance to freshen up.

Luke Tedesco is looking at five to eight weeks on the sideline with a calf injury.

We'll be hoping to see him back before the end of the season. Working in his favour is that he suffered a similar injury later in the year in 2013 and still made it back for the finals.

Kody Manning will also miss this week through injury, but should return for our next match.

We'll be wearing black armbands in memory of former player Ted Brunton this weekend.

Ted, in his first season, won a premiership and the WAFL goalkicking record in 1942 when the league became an underage competition because of World War II.
