Staff WriterJoondalup Times

THE Joondalup Wolves are one win away from a fourth-straight State Basketball League grand final and their sixth appearance in eight seasons.

The Wolves have missed the grand final just twice since winning the championship in 2011, but 2015 remains their only title in that time.

The side dispatched crosstown rivals the Stiring Senators 87-78 in game one of the semi-finals at HBF Arena on Saturday night.

An offensive rebound count of 12-3 in the Wolves’ favour was telling.

US import Brian Sullivan continued his impressive finals series to lead the team in scoring with 25 points, including 6-11 from outside the arc.

Sullivan also had equal team-high stats in assists (five) and rebounds (six).

Big man Jalen Billups (11 points) shared the rebound honours, while Rob Huntington (21 points) equalled the assist count.

Joondalup will look to sweep the series when it heads to Warwick Stadium on Friday night.
