Wolves guard up for challenge

IT’S a big weekend for the Joondalup Wolves and their guard Mikayla Pirini.

Pirini chalked up her 100th SBL game on Friday night in the Wolves’ away win over the Cockburn Cougars.

She returns to HBF Arena Saturday night with her teammates for the club’s women’s round where the Lady Wolfpack’s game against Mandurah Magic is the main event at 8pm.

Pirini said she was lucky to share her 100th with “such an awesome group of girls”.

“I just want to thank the clubs and teammates I’ve been fortunate enough to share this with over my years in the SBL- the Willetton Tigers where my SBL journey begun, the Perth Redbacks and now the Joondalup Wolves,” she said.

“Thanks to them all for believing and trusting me as a person and player! I hope to continue forward with the girls tonight and get the win.”
