SBL: Joondalup Wolves to unveil Canadian basketballer Ryan Wright

Staff ReporterJoondalup Times

JOONDALUP expects to unveil marquee import Ryan Wright as it does battle with crosstown rival Stirling in the State Basketball League on Saturday.

The Wolves are hoping the 206cm Canadian (30) will have an immediate impact coming off time in Hungary’s top professional competition.

The men will be looking to maintain their top three spot, while the Lady Wolfpack (seventh) is hoping to avenge the one-point loss the Senators (fourth) inflicted upon them the last time they met.

The men defeated the Magic 90-78 away before downing the Hawks 81-71 at home.

Rob Huntington continued his rich vein of form with a team-high 20 points against Mandurah.

Damian Matacz turned back the clock against Perry Lakes with a team-high 19 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Wolfpack was always in for a challenging weekend against the league’s two best sides, losing to second-placed Magic 63-60 and the undefeated Hawks 76-58.
