THE Joondalup Wolves women have sewn up the minor title, but it has come down to the final round of the regular season for the men to do the same in the State Basketball League.

In what could shape as a grand final preview, the league-leading men’s side faces the second-placed Cockburn Cougars at Wally Hagan Stadium tonight.

The teams are locked on an equal win ratio but Joondalup holds the No. 1 ranking with a superior scoring percentage.

Whoever wins the game finishes the season on top.

The teams have not met since April when the Wolves won by 13 points in round six.

Joondalup head into the game after a 28-point trouncing of the seventh-positioned Perth Redbacks last Friday.

Trian Iliadis top scored with 21 points, shooting a sharp 5-8 from the three-point line.

Greg Hire took 19 points and eight rebounds, while Kevin Davis landed 17 points and 12 rebounds.

In the women’s contest, Joondalup confirmed its status as best team of the 2016 regular season with an 80-53 win over seventh-ranked Perth.

Klara Wischer hit 23 points, with Ellyce Ironmonger returning 12 rebounds and 15 points.
