WA, who finished sixth last year, will be skippered by Melville’s Niamh Walsh, with club team-mate and South-West product Meg Thompson her vice-captain.

Orazio Santalucia will coach WA in the tournament, which runs from January 13-19.

“This squad has worked well since the end of August and has developed pleasingly over this time,” Santalucia said.

“There has been some significant development in a lot of the squad and they have been consistent performers in club cricket which puts them in good stead for the upcoming championships.
