WA Premier Cricket: Joondalup has momentum into Rockingham-Mandurah clash

Staff WriterJoondalup Times

FRESH off an against-the-odds victory, Joondalup will look for its third win of the WA Premier Cricket season against Rockingham-Mandurah beginning this weekend.

The Centurions were not expected to beat Melville in fine conditions for batting last Saturday as they looked to defend a catchable 232 in the two-day clash at Tompkins Park.

The visitors had been restricted by poor weather on day one and had experienced disruption with the recent sacking of its coach Ric Olsen.

But Joondalup veteran Josh Anderson turned back the clock on day two with a scintillating 6-51 to lead the visitors’ bowling attack to a 60-run win, keeping the hosts to 172.
