JOONDALUP snapped a three-game losing streak to complete a dominant display over arch-rival Wanneroo on day two of the northern derby in WA Premier Cricket.

WA rookie Josh Inglis, who is on the verge of his state debut, starred for the Centurions with a brutal unbeaten century at Kingsway Reserve on Saturday.

Joondalup was gunning for an outright victory, having already secured first-innings points on the first day, but could not reach the 20 wickets needed.

The Roos held firm to finish the match on 5-176, with the visitors having declared at 6-276 with a 137-run lead.

Inglis belted 121 from 143 balls in a grade-cricket master class.

Joondalup’s Simon Branston was entertaining with a quick-fire 38 from 23 balls.

Wanneroo’s Rob Richards (50) and Dan Lawrence (51) each made a half-century, while teammates Matthew Dzodzos (2-52) and Bailey Nylander (2-58) were effective.

The result kept Joondalup in fourth spot and Wanneroo in 13th.

The teams head into the final round of the season, with the Centurions facing University and the Roos taking on Gosnells.
