WANNEROO has lost consecutive tight encounters after falling to an Adam Voges-boosted Melville by just three runs in WA Premier Cricket at Kingsway on Saturday.
The Round 4 one-day loss followed the Roos’ five-run defeat to Perth in Round 3.
The hosts could not get the runs needed in the final over, finishing at 9-292 in reply to the Storm’s 5-295.
Star English import Dan Lawrence made his maiden century for the Roos, striking 140 as the match’s leading scorer.
Australian Test player Adam Voges batted at No. 4 in his first semi-pro cricket clash of the year, but was well heldwith Wanneroo captain Chris Quelch (1-60) bowling him for 31.
Voges bowled six overs, taking 1-39.
The visitors’ Fraser Hay made 116, while Wanneroo’s Kyle Millar led bowling with 2-45.
Wanneroo faces Bayswater-Morley as two-day clashes get underway this Saturday.
