JOONDALUP lost two late wickets on day one of its WACA Premier Cricket clash against Bayswater-Morley to put pressure on its chase heading into day two on Saturday.
The Centurions dismissed the Bears for 191 at Hillcrest Lower Oval.
The hosts’ batsmen made a number of promising starts but none of them reached the half-century mark.
The visitors faced just 9.5 overs before stumps, but lost the wickets of important sibling openers Garrick (11) and Jaron Morgan (4) to the Bears’ Jonty Wilde (2-15).
Earlier, Joondalup pace stalwart James Boyland continued his strong start to the season with 3-42, while leg-spinner Ty Hopes took 3-53.
Bayswater-Morley tailender Grant Thistle top scored for the Bears with 36.
The Centurions’ Clint Hinchliffe and Josh Inglis will resume the innings with Joondalup at 2-21.
