PERTH might have only won one game, but it is a dangerous team.
The Demons gave us a touch-up in the pre-season so we’re particularly wary of them heading into the clash at Arena Joondalup on Saturday.
They have a young side with the ability to kick goals quickly.
They have proven against some of the best teams in the competition that they can be difficult to stop if they get their tails up.
We’ll continue with Scott Simpson in the ruck and he’ll likely be helped by Mark Hamilton, who returns to the team.
There will be matches where we need Simpson to take up his key role in defence, at which point specialist ruckman Seva Mozhaev will likely come back into the side.
I was happy with our 13.7 (85) to 12.8 (80) victory over Swan Districts in Joondalup on Saturday.
It got tight in the final quarter, but we felt we were in control for most of the second and third terms.
We had a couple of injury concerns with Ben King and Steve Potente both injuring ankles during the contest.
Potente will be out for about four weeks, while King will miss this week.
It was pleasing to see us kick the biggest score Swan Districts has conceded this season.
We didn’t take any specific attacking plan into the match, we just worked hard to build upon the ball movement that had helped us beat Peel the week before.
But we won’t be congratulating ourselves too much because we think we should have been a little more efficient inside 50.
