THE public can get up close and personal with Kanyana’s resident echidnas Elle (13) and Aruba (17) to help raise funds for the wildlife hospital in Lesmurdie.
Kanyana Wildlife hospital manager Tasha Hennings said both echidnas arrived as eight-week old puggles.

READ NOW“Elle was literally dug up by a bulldozer at Kambalda at an exploration mining site,” she said.
“She was flown to Kanyana, travelling in the luxury of a packed lunch box filled with paper.
“Aruba was rescued after being ejected from the mother’s pouch following a car collision.
“It was very lucky that Aruba was spotted by a Hills resident who knew Kanyana could help.”
Ms Hennings said the public could book a meet and greet with the echidnas with the funds raised being used to support animals at the not-for-profit organisation.
“This is a unique chance for people to have their own private meet and greet with the echidnas,” she said.
“You get to spend 30 minutes holding the echidnas, stroking and learning about them.
“And don’t worry we have special gloves for handling them!”
