Football: lean weekend for Kalamunda Cougars with no wins from four

Brad WoodgateMidland Kalamunda Reporter

IT was a rough weekend for Kalamunda as it came away winless from its four games.

An inaccurate league team kicked itself out of any chance of winning on Saturday, going down to Wesley Curtin on their home ground 14.4 (88) to 8.20 (68).

Albert Dean was best on ground for Kalamunda as he continued his great clearance work, with Blair Southcott and co-captain Brett van Groningen also in the votes.

The reserves had a few missing talls which hurt their structure, as they lost 11.16 (82) to 2.1 (13).

Cam Embry and new player Jarrad Tucker were best for Kalamunda.

The colts were simply outclassed by their opponents, with Kane Swithenbank the only shining light for the young Cougars as they lost 20.8 (128) to 2.1 (13).

The E1 league team took on an undefeated Roleystone at Ray Owen Reserve and despite leading late were not able to hold on with just 16 fit players and ended up losing 9.6.60 to 8.7.55.

Daniel Henderson continued his impressive season with another best on ground.
