Forrestfield MLA calls for traffic study for Kalamunda Rd between Abernethy Rd and Roe Hwy

FORRESTFIELD MLA Nathan Morton has written to the Shire of Kalamunda calling on it to commence a full traffic study for Kalamunda Road between Abernethy Road and Roe Highway.

After calls for a footbridge over Kalamunda Road near High Wycombe Shopping Village, Mr Morton met with Shire CEO Rhonda Hardy to discuss the feasibility of such a project.

“Facilitating such a structure will be difficult due to current land usage and traffic configuration around the shops,” Mr Morton said.

“As a result, I have asked the Shire to consider a full traffic study for Kalamunda Road in High Wycombe.”

With council considering alterations to the intersection of Kalamunda Road and Newburn Road, Mr Morton said it was time to invest in formulating an overall strategy that will deliver better transport solutions for the people of High Wycombe, as pedestrians, cyclists or motorists.
