Guildford apartment development given go-ahead on Terrace Road

The four-level building will consist of 22 apartments and two commercial leases.

Willing Property owner Tim Willing said the decision by the Metropolitan East Joint Development Assessment Panel to support the project was the result of 17 months of consultation and mediation by the State Administrative Tribunal.

The company appointed architect Philip Griffiths and worked with the City of Swan.

It was referred to Heritage WA, the WA Planning Commission and an independent heritage architect appointed by the City who all supported the design.

“We believe this boutique apartment project represents a new benchmark in terms of high-quality development,” Mr Willing said.

The red brick building will deliver a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, with prices expected to start at $300,000.

Half of the apartments will be loft-style homes set over two levels with large living spaces and, in some cases, district views across to the Swan River.

The scale and height of the building will directly relate to the adjacent Padbury’s Stores and Residence built in 1869.
