Visitors can learn more about gardening favourites, from growing veggies and herbs, to creating a thriving garden and living a more sustainable life.

“Spring is a great time to start a garden, and we know many people are keen to grow some of their own food, but often aren’t sure how,” she said.

The day will round off with the trio of gardening gurus and other experts hosting a Q&A panel at 3pm.

There will also be displays and advice on responsible fertiliser use, home composting systems, worm farms, grey water re-use, keeping chickens and garden design.

Other attractions on the day include a fundraising sausage sizzle by Swan Districts Gymnastics and Old MacDonald’s Farm animals from 1pm.

The festival heralds the launch of the Green Life Soil Co Harvest Club project, a trial program to mentor gardeners through a growing season and record their experiences.

Gardeners will share their journeys for others to take advantage of local information gained to achieve better results themselves.
