DEVELOPING a community hub in Kalamunda will create local jobs and a vital facility where people can access support services.

The hub was a Labor Party election promise with Premier Mark McGowan and Kalamunda MLA Matthew Hughes committing $3 million to the project.

Mr McGowan visited the Kalamunda community this week to present the funding for the construction of the crche, outdoor play spaces, craft room and training kitchen.

The City of Kalamunda was also successful in receiving a $2.5 million Lotterywest grant that will help make the community hub in the town centre a reality.
