Quest chief executive Zed Sanjana said the new developments showed accommodation was booming in WA.

“WA is experiencing a huge second wave of tourism as the focus shifts away from the mining sector,” he said.

Recently released figures in the Hotel Market Outlook showed surging tourist numbers were seeking tourist upgrades for major centres in accommodation offerings, with Perth at the forefront.

“We are confident in the prospects for Tourism WA in continuing to position Perth as a prime destination, especially in the context of its proximity to the rest of the world, and in particular to Asia,” Mr Sanjana said.

“The market has responded strongly to Quest’s accommodation offering after suffering a significant lack of good quality accommodation supply, with most products on offer being very dated.”
