Mazenod College tennis star Pham books place at World Junior Tennis Finals

RISING tennis star Derek Pham from Maida Vale has booked a place for the World Junior Tennis finals in the Czech Republic later this year after a top four finish in the Asia/Oceania event in Thailand earlier this month

The Mazenod College Year 9 student was a member of the under-14 Australian junior boys team who defeated Lebanon, Indonesia, Korea and Qatar in the round robin stages, before falling to China and Thailand in the playoffs of the World Junior Tennis Asia/Oceania event in Bangkok.

The World Junior Tennis finals will see Australia take on the world’s top 16 nations from the other four qualifying zones Africa, North/Central America, South America and Europe all competing for the title of the world’s best under 14’s tennis nation.

The finals will take place in Prostejov, Czech Republic from August 6-11.
