WELLARD musician Jack Nelson is about to launch his debut album with his band Black Stone from the Sun.

The 25-year-old has been playing drums for 16 years and has toured Australia with bands such as Birds of Tokyo.

Nelson described the band’s sound as grungy and melodic with “hooky” songs.

“We started in 2012 just for fun, but got more serious in 2015 when we released our EP,” he said.

A grunge-punk duo, Black Stone from the Sun released their heaviest track yet Smile in a Daze, which will spearhead their album Dreamalysis.

Dreamalysis demonstrates the band’s evolution since their 2015 EP Death Treats and Cigarettes.
