Ripple effect documentary to screen in Rockingham

Ripple effect documentary to screen in Rockingham

A FUNDRAISING event for Life Line Australia will feature a screening in Rockingham of a documentary that explores the ripple effect of suicide.

Suicide: The Ripple Effect is being screened globally in an effort to generate hope, healing and discussion.

The documentary features Kevin Hines, who attempted to take his life at 19 years of age by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge.

Seventeen years later, he still struggles with many of the same symptoms that led him to attempt to take his life, but he is now on a mission to use his story to help others stay alive.

He has also been one of the key catalysts in helping end a nearly 80-year long fight to construct suicide-prevention net on the iconic San Francisco bridge.

Married at First Sight’s Tracey Jewel, and Erin Macaulay from the ‘We’re all a little crazy’ Global Mental Health Alliance, will speak at the Rockingham event.

The film will be shown at Ace Cinemas in Rockingham on May 15, at 6.30pm.
