WELLARD artist Sherry Paddon is preparing her sculpture Sly Village for the Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe exhibition.
A sculptor for 10 years, it is the first time Paddon has displayed her work in the exhibition.
She usually exhibits her pieces in a gallery and is excited about setting up her work on a grassed area at Cottesloe.
“I started conceptualising the piece in August and started production in December,” she said.
“It is a tent with a thousand soft toys I’ve gathered from op shops around Perth.
“It represents a home and a fictional village.
“I want the viewer to create a narrative about who lives in the space.”
Paddon enjoys relation work using foam, plaster and other tactile materials.
Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe is from March 2 to 9.
