Baldivis man charged over altercation with woman in Shark Bay

A BALDIVIS man (44) has been charged after a woman was threatened with a knife and injured in Shark Bay on Sunday .

Police said the woman (27) left a house about 5.30pm and was approached by the Baldivis man.

They claim the woman knew the man and he pushed her to the ground.

It is alleged the man was armed with a knife and the woman attempted to run from him.

He caught up with the woman, before a further altercation occurred and the woman received a number of injuries.

Witnesses attempted to assist the woman by restraining the man.

The woman was taken to Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital by the Royal Flying Doctors Service (RFDS) and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The man was taken to Royal Perth Hospital by RFDS and was also treated for non-life threatening injuries, while under police guard.

The Baldivis man was charged with breaching a violence restraining order, aggravated burglary and commit, acts with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and being armed in a way that may cause fear.

He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today ().
