CIRCUS Joseph Ashton is coming to Baldivis.

The family of acrobats, bareback riders, animal trainers, clowns and trapeze artists have been entertaining for more than 150 years and seven generations.

In 1998, Joseph Ashton broke from the family circus, which had grown too big to support all the family members.

Joseph with wife Michelle and their young sons Jordan and Merrik embarked on a mission to create a new circus.

While they honed their skills, the family performed around Sydney.

Joseph took a break in 2000 to work with Baz Luhrmann on the movie Moulin Rouge. Joseph was technical advisor for Nicole Kidman’s trapeze work.

He was also given the task of training eight acrobats known in the film as the Tobasco Brothers.

After this Joseph returned to working for the family circus and by 2001 the show was supporting itself, performing 46 weeks of the year.
