City of Kwinana ready to make a difference with Clean Up Australia Day events

Those who want to make a difference in the community are invited to Clean Up Australia Day events on Sunday, March 4 from 9am.

The City of Kwinana will be hosting a cleanup at the Wildflower Reserve in Orelia.

Over the past 27 years, Clean Up Australia Day volunteers have donated more than 32 million hours of their time removing 334,000 tonnes of rubbish from streets, beaches, parks, bushland and local waterways.

Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams said Clean Up Australia Day was a great initiative.

“Clean Up Australia Day is a fun and easy way for residents to get involved and a great opportunity to enjoy our beautiful nature reserve,” she said.

“Get your friends, family, team mates and work colleagues together and sign up for 2018 Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday, March 4.”

It is recommended that volunteers wear enclosed shoes, long sleeves, hats and to bring a water bottle. Garbage bags will be provided.
