Adult, child in hospital after fiery car crash in Orelia

UPDATE: A woman at the scene of a fiery car crash in Orelia this morning has credited an unknown stranger who risked his life to save people trapped in the burning car.

Susan Barnyard said an older man in high vis gear climbed into the burning car and pulled a girl, a toddler and their father to safety.

St John Ambulance paramedics transported the father and his two girls to hospital from the crash on Thomas Road.

The nine-year-old was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital, while the toddler was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital along with their father.

EARLIER: POLICE, St John Ambulance WA and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services are at the scene of a fiery car crash on Thomas Road in Orelia.

The crash is on Thomas Road westbound after Orelia Avenue.

There is heavy congestion and motorists are encouraged to avoid the area.

The crash was initially reported at 10.44am.
