Girl (14) charged with lighting fire at Kwinana Adventure Park

A 14-year-old girl has been charged with lighting a fire at the Adventure Park in Kwinana.

Collaborative efforts between the City of Kwinana and the WA Police resulted in the charge.

A City spokeswoman said the soft fall floor was damaged with the fire last month.

The incident was reported to police and the area was repaired.

The park caretakers, City Assist, City of Kwinana staff and WA Police worked together, viewing CCTV cameras and investigating the incident.

Mayor Carol Adams said council took pride in its facilities and it was extremely disappointing when people did not treat them with respect.

The girl is due to appear in court later this month.
