COLES has achieved its goal of employing more than 3000 indigenous Australians two years earlier than expected.

Coles Kwinana marked the milestone with a celebration attended by indigenous artist and leader Richard Walley along with Coles senior management.

Managing director John Durkan said the recruitment achievement makes Coles one of corporate Australia’s biggest employers of indigenous people. He said the target for 2020 was exceeded when it reached 3373 indigenous employees last month.

A Welcome to Country, Aboriginal dance and cake cutting featured at the celebration.
