Man charged after police standoff

Staff WriterWeekend Kwinana Courier

A MAN has been charged with creating a false sense of danger over a suburban siege at a Warnbro house.

It will be alleged police responded to a report of a 55-year-old man behaving erratically and was barricaded in a house on Monterey Crescent yesterday.

The man allegedly made threats, causing additional police resources to be deployed to the house including Tactical Response Group officers.

Police said a negotiator spoke to the man and he emerged from the house just after 12.30pm, to be taken into custody and to a hospital for a mental assessment.
