Developers the Delstrat Group have purchased all three sites and is in the process of finalising development plans for the new Golden Bay Village Centre, which has been designed by Taylor Robinson architects.

The Village Centre precinct has frontages to Warnbro Sound Avenue, Aurea Boulevard and Thundelarra Drive and will include a 1000sqm IGA supermarket, 12 speciality shops, a liquor store, medical centre and childcare centre.

A Development Application for Lot 622 (the shopping centre, speciality stores, liquor store and medical centre) and Lot 636 (the childcare centre) has been approved by the City of Rockingham.

Taylor Robinson has created a design concept for the entire development with a coastal theme. Contemporary elements such as timber cladding, black glass, feature brickwork, embossed concrete and timber loggia are key features in the design.

Work on the new Village Centre is expected to start in mid-2017, with completion planned for mid-2018.

Delstrat Director Paul Basso said the Golden Bay Village Centre was a spectacular development and very exciting news for Golden Bay.

“It’s going to be a very impressive development with a medical centre, childcare centre, a secure tenant in IGA, a drive-through bottle shop, and specialty shops as well as potential for an apartment development on the same site as the shopping centre,” he said.

“The design of the Village Centre is very appealing and the whole development is going to be a quality asset for the people of Golden Bay and wider region.”

Peet Limited Managing Director and CEO Brendan Gore said the new Village Centre demonstrated the high quality of development taking place across the Golden Bay region.

“The new Golden Bay Village Centre will significantly lift the level of community facilities and amenities in Golden Bay and the surrounding suburbs.”
