Pace Road in Medina to get CCTV

Jaime ShurmerWeekend Kwinana Courier

CCTV will be installed on Pace Road in Medina near the shops later this year in response to community concerns about anti-social behaviour.

The City of Kwinana secured a funding commitment from the State Government’s Local Projects, Local Jobs program.

It is now working to finalise the scope of works prior to signing the grant agreement, and it is envisaged the project will begin in the second half of the year.

“The location of the CCTV cameras will be focused on the public domain around the Medina Shops on the northern side of Pace Road,” a City of Kwinana spokeswoman said.

“This is in response to the local community concerns regarding anti-social behaviour within this part of the centre.

“In addition to providing the CCTV, we are currently exploring the opportunities for improving the lighting and general amenity of the area.

“The project will contribute to improving the safety of the Medina Town Centre, and subsequent revitalisation of the area.”
