PERTH photographers – both professional and amateur – have captured some impressive looking shots of the lightning displays from last night’s storm.

Baldivis local Mark Crook took the above shot last night as storm clouds rolled in over the area.

The photograph was taken at the Baldivis South oval, on the corner of Peckham Boulevard and Eighty Road.

Rottnest Island appeared to suffer a bit of damage.


At Port Beach, intense waves caused further erosion to the sand dunes – but did not deter swimmers from braving the conditions this morning.

And spare a thought for WA’s newest police graduates, who are more than a little wet behind the ears after facing a torrential downpour during their graduation today.
