THE revised Kwinana Master Plan, to guide the future of the city centre, is out for public comment.

The revised plan considers better connections between the Marketplace, the Kwinana Bus Station, Calista Oval and the adjacent Edge Skatepark and Adventure Park, Banksia Aged Care and other important City services such as the Recquatic and the Darius Wells Library and Resource Centre.

It also proposes connecting the Marketplace shopping centre with Chisham Avenue to create a thriving, busy area of shops, and cafes with alfresco dining along the street.

“Our aim for the Kwinana City Centre is to create a vibrant and safe environment that moves away from car use and moves towards easy access for local residents to shops, amenities, transport and entertainment,” Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams said.

The current Master Plan was established a decade ago in 2009.

Two public information sessions on the revised Master Plan will be held in June.

One will be held in the evening on Wednesday, June 5 from 6pm to 8pm at the City of Kwinana Administration Centre, and the other during the day on Monday, June 10, from noon until 2pm at the Ken Jackman Hall in the Darius Wells Library and Resource Centre.

The submission period closes 5pm, Monday, July 1.
