Schools policy aims to help families

The pair met with local parents last week to discuss Labor’s new EduCare policy.

The plan is for childcare centres at public primary schools, as well as before- and after- school care and school holiday care.

Mr McGowan said the initiative would help working families by avoiding the “double drop-offs” in the morning.

“Existing government buildings could be used by private operators,” he said.

“We think this policy would help families achieve a good work and family balance.”
