Kwinana youth scouting for a new leader

KWINANA Scout Group is calling for people in the community with leadership skills to step up and help guide 20 keen young Scouts.

The Scout Group formed in Kwinana 60 years ago, and caters for children aged six to 18 years.

Group leader Brent Ryde is looking for a Scout leader to fill a vacancy in the 11 – 14 years age group.

“We are friendly and approachable and do many things within the community such as tree planting, Clean Up Australia projects, the Alcoa Children’s Festival, and Anzac services, including maintaining an overnight vigil at the Kwinana War Memorial in conjunction with our friends at the Jervoise Bay Sea Scout Group,” Mr Ryde said.

“We are looking for somebody who enjoys working with youth and helping them learn and develop new skills.

“Someone who enjoys outdoor activities and who enjoys learning new skills in a fun environment.”

He said full training and support is provided.
