Stranger tries to lure boy

Police said the boy was walking about 3.25pm when he was stopped by a man in a vehicle. The boy reported the man was waving his hands at him, trying to get him to come over.

The boy ran off.

The vehicle was described as a small blue car that looked new. The man was described as Caucasian and bald.

Parents were urged to be vigilant with child safety during the school holidays.

Police advise children to:

* Always travel in a group.

* Walk on the right side of the road to face oncoming traffic.

* Stay in view and avoid isolated areas.

* Be alert.
