“The Lolly Run is a unique and proud tradition in Kwinana,” she said.

“Every Christmas morning we see groups of volunteers ride their colourfully decorated sleighs, trucks and utes through the streets – delivering lollies and festive cheer to children and families.”

The first Kwinana Lolly Run took place in 1954, run by resident Alf Lydon and a community organisation called Toc H.

Many volunteer groups make the event possible – including the Mandogalup and Kwinana South Bushfire Brigades.

Dozens of volunteers also organise and bag the goodies ready for the run.

It is organised by Kwinana Rotary and the city.
