Barterers will love ‘The Simple Swap’ market coming to Oakebella residential estate on Saturday, May 7.

Event organiser Jess Jacobs said market-goers wouldn’t need cash.

“People just need a willingness to trade some of their skills or any items that can be donated to charities,” she said.

“Skills include dancing, singing or even whistling a tune.

“In exchange, they can get goodies from stallholders such as icy poles or hotdogs through to herbs.”

LWP Property Group development manager Alf Lay expected the day to be a fun family affair.

“‘The Simple Swap’ will take place between 10am and 3pm at Oakebella, a new community by LWP Property Group, on the corner of Johnson and Bertram Roads in Wellard,” he said.

“Mums and dads could donate a moonwalk for a cappuccino and the kids a hand-drawn picture for an icy pole.

“It will be a really fun event and we can’t wait to see what people will trade.

“Our new community of Oakebella is really about going back to a life ‘more simple’ and we think this is a fun way of demonstrating it.”

Stallholders will include icy poles by Delish Ice, gourmet hotdogs by Wassup Dog, popcorn, herbs by The Greenhouse, Gran and Pops Preserves, and Refresh Juices.

Free entertainment and music for children will be by Eerie Anne in the morning and Lauren O’Hara in the afternoon.
