FAMILIES are encouraged to visit their local park and enjoy some free spring fun with the annual Parks Play series that will begin at Wellard Oval on Wednesday, September 27.

The City of Kwinana Healthy Lifestyles Team will be leading sports and games that everyone can participate in from 10am to noon.

There will be a special appearance by Commonwealth Games athlete Luke Cann, the Australian under-20 javelin record holder with a personal best of 81.07m.

Cann came second in the Commonwealth Youth Games, seventh at both the World Junior Championships and Glasgow Commonwealth Games and second at the recent 2017 Australian Championships.

The Parks Play event is the first in a series of four held throughout the community, encouraging residents to enjoy the City’s beautiful parks and playgrounds.

There will also be giveaways for lucky participants.
