Wellard resident Williams shines in Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat

A CAST of more than 50 brings to life the musical Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat for just four performances at Mandurah Performing Arts Centre in April.

Directed by Carol Dhu, the Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber musical tells of the trials and tribulations of Joseph, Israel’s favourite son, along with his 11 brothers and coat of many colours.

Joseph could predict the future through his dreams, overcoming jail and prosecution to become the saviour of Egypt.

He is played by Wellard resident Laurence Williams, a familiar face on stage, who played the lead in Shout and Che in Evita last year.

The company has teamed up and auditioned several children’s theatre groups, including Primadonna Productions, to mix with the adult cast of 55.

Other leading roles in the show are taken by Sian Dhu as the narrator, Tom Hennessey as Pharaoh, Graham Cole as Potiphar and Melle Smith as Mrs Potiphar.
