Peel District Cycling Club changes to present challenge to riders

Tim SlaterWeekend Kwinana Courier

Instead of running its own race series, the club is working with all the other Perth-based cycling clubs to run a combined series across the metropolitan area to provide more challenging events for club members.

The Ring Crit Series of 12 races will include five run by Peel Districts – three at Smeaton Way in Rockingham and two at the Pinjarra Industrial Estate.

The other races are at Tech Park in Bentley and Gnangara.

While Peel members will now have to travel further to some of the races, they will be racing in bigger and more competitive fields in all of the races.

The first race in the series is at Tech Park in Bentley on November 20, with the next round at Smeaton Way in Rockingham on November 27.

The Wednesday evening time trial is unchanged, with racing starting at 5:30pm at the Hopeland Community Centre.
