GOLFERS from 24 metropolitan and regional clubs travelled to Rockingham Golf Club over the weekend of November 5 and 6 to compete in the annual Rockingham Ladies Amateur Golf Tournament.

The leaders after the first round were Maddison Hinson-Tolchard (Gosnells GC) and Kirsten Rudgeley (Wanneroo GC) with one-under-par scores of 73.

In the Saturday handicap divisions, the Silver (handicap 0-20) joint leaders were Cindy Song of Rockingham and Georgia Shears (Wanneroo GC) with nett scores of 71.

The Division 1 (handicap 21-29) Stableford competition was led by Roslyn Chew of Royal Frementle with 40 points and Rockingham’s Jenny Hughes top scored in Division 2 (hcap 30-45) with 41 points.

Kirsten Rudgeley scored a second round total of par 74 with Georgia Shears and Kathryn Norris a close second each on 75.

The next best score was Jennifer Herbst (Lake Karrinyup GC) with 79.

The Sunday handicap divisions saw the prize for the silver division awarded to Jennifer Herbst with 75.

Division 1 leader was Julie Chester of Goomalling 37 and Division 2 was led by Dorothy Jones of Rockingham 39.

The overall winner and 2016 champion was Kirsten Rudgeley of Wanneroo with a 36-hole total of one under par 147.

Close behind with a one over par score of 149 was Kathryn Norris while Georgia Shears took third place 152.

The overall handicap winner in the silver division was Panita Phobubpa (Royal Perth GC) with a nett score of 147.

Division one was won by Lyn McCandless of Rockingham (70 points).
