It was also the first year that Canteen Pizza grabbed a slice of the action, with the main course and auction held at the former Cottesloe favourite’s new location in Applecross.

Mission Australia event manager Georgina Westgarth said she was grateful for the donors’ generosity in their sixth year of supporting the cause.

“Christmas Lunch in the Park is 100 per cent community-funded and we wouldn’t be able to help the amount of people we do without events like the progressive dinner,” she said.

“It was a wonderful evening and I extend my sincerest thanks to the Applecross community.”

More than $71,800 was raised overall through ticket sales, auction and donations.
