Help for job seekers in the Peel region

MANDURAH-BASED company Fair Go Finance is partnering with APM Employment Services to link local job seekers with employment opportunities.

Fair Go Finance chief executive Paul Walshe said this was an excellent opportunity for Peel residents to receive extra support while looking for work.

“Through this new partnership, we are working closely with other local organisations to create a number of touchpoints for employment; while nurturing future candidates through bi-monthly user groups of 10-15 people,” he said.

“Our aim is to help local people build confidence and demonstrate prior experience when seeking out job opportunities.

“As Mandurah works to broaden its employment base from services and mining to newer industries, building awareness of our business and opportunities locally is critical to having a great team.”

The new program has made a good start with three new recruits from APM joining the Fair Go Finance Mandurah office, taking casual roles in Customer Experience and Customer Care.

The new roles will support the development and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) based chatbots that complement the phone calls and email channels used by customers.

More job opportunities will arise early in 2020, with the second round of candidates joining the program for future sessions and screening.

APM Employment Services Business Manager Kylie Alexander said they are excited to be able to offer new opportunities.

“Our vision at APM is to enable better lives for our community,” she said.

“Having a job is about more than money; it gives you more control of your life and can improve your health and wellbeing.”

When casual or permanent employment opportunities arise at Fair Go Finance, the APM user groups will be drawn upon first, to leverage the people who have already built an understanding of the business, established relationships and displayed their skills and attitude.
