The internationally renowned touring musician has spent the past three years travelling in Europe, playing at festivals, pubs and clubs, as well as bringing his music directly to people as a busker and street performer.

A multiple WAMi Award winner, Mayhem was for 10 years the lead singer of Perth punk band Project Mayhem before striking out on his solo career.

Born in Albany, Mayhem has been based in Mandurah on and off since 2000 when his family moved to the Peel region.

He spent many years in Perth working with local original bands as a performer and ran a local record label.

His first solo performance as Benny Mayhem was in Wannanup in 2010, but Mayhem also spent much of his formative years performing in and around Mandurah.

He said it was exciting for him to return to the Peel region.

“I’ve spent a lot of time travelling the world and yet Mandurah is where I had my start as a solo musician back in 2000, before all the bands and everything, and this modern phase of my solo career began here too.

“So this is a pretty special show for me, and Redcliffe on the Murray is a magnificent venue.”
