Johnny Cash the Concert at Mandurah Performing Arts Centre on July 3

OVER the past six years, Australia’s Man in Black Daniel Thompson has toured nationally with Johnny Cash the Concert, performing to more than 30,000 fans.

During that time, Thompson has gained a reputation as one of Australia’s best and most respected tribute performers and brings his latest show The Greats of 70s Country Music to Mandurah next month.

The new concert experience showcases the 1970s hits of some of the biggest country music artists of all time including Glen Campbell, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, John Denver, Dolly Parton, Dr Hook, the Bellamy Brothers and Linda Ronstadt.

During the 1970s, a decade when a huge variety of music exploded on to the mainstream around the world, country music thrived, with many timeless country classics reaching the tops of charts around the world.

Thompson has a huge respect and love of the classic hits of his musical heroes.

“People want to hear these songs and I’m looking forward to singing then,’’ he said.

The Greats of 70s Country Music features a special tribute to Johnny Cash among the two hours of hits presented.
