Water Minister Mia Davies congratulated the centres for their water saving efforts at the LIWA State Conference last week.

Ms Davies said the Waterwise Aquatic Centre Program had helped the industry save more than 700 million litres of water since 2008 – about the size of 280 Olympic-sized pools.

She said the five centres carried out extensive reviews of how they used water and developed management plans to achieve lasting water savings.

“This program is an opportunity for centres to demonstrate their role in conserving water and I encourage all aquatic centres across WA to become involved in this innovative program.’’
