LOCAL artist Hilly Coufreur used art to find her place in the community after a 12-month residency at Contemporary Art Spaces Mandurah last year.
Her exhibition is on show until October 1.
Coufreur was one of two Mandurah artists chosen for the CASM residence program last year, which gave her the use of studio space for up to 16 hours a day.

READ NOWThe year-long journey enabled the artist to explore and develop her unique style by experimenting with paint application, painting tools, textural and colour.
The pure abstract painter has diversified her subject matter after joining the Mandurah Plein Air Artist Plus painting group, which meets weekly to paint in various outdoor locations.
Coufreur said finding her place in the community had shaped her artworks and introduced some warmth in the colours she uses.
She said her painting journey was “finding and coming home in my art as well as my heart”.
There will be a free artist talk on Sunday, September 17, at 2pm.
