“I’ve been going to clubs since I was able to get in and my passion for dance music had taken me all over Europe,” he said.

“DJing in a club has always been a dream, but I’ve never had to opportunity, so I decided to give it a go.

“I bought my first set of vinyl decks whilst at university and started practising.

“Since then I’ve only played at parties.

“Although those decks are long gone, I’ve still got all the records.”

Smith said going to a club was all about your experience.

“It’s a place where you can go and be yourself and enjoy the music, without anyone else judging you,” he said.

“I love making other people enjoy the music I play as much as I do.

“I would love to headline a festival playing a track that I had made and seeing the crowd go wild.”

The aim of Your Shot is to launch aspiring DJs and make their dreams come true.

The winner gets to perform at international music festivals alongside celebrity DJs.

Presented by Alcatel, Your Shot has launched the careers of world-famous DJs such as Tigerlily, J-Trick, Hydraulix, Go Freek and Nyxen.

The WA finals are on August 24 and 25.
