Mandurah’s young songwriters get a chance to hone skills

MANDURAH budding songwriters will have the chance to learn the ropes on all things lyric composition at this years Act-Belong-Commit youth songwriting workshop.

The workshops, which are facilitated by award-winning songwriters including David Hyams and Lucy Peach will teach participants how to hone their own songs.

Songwriters will be taught the process of discussion, performance, musicianship, lyric writing and recording.

All participants would be passed on knowledge to refine their songs for entry in the Fairbridge Festival Quest youth song-writing competition.

However competition entry is not mandatory for workshop attendees as the workshops are for all to learn in a creative, safe and welcoming environment.

The workshop will take place on January 13 at Mandurah Performing Arts centre from 9am to 1pm.
